Majestic Mount Rainier
Spend a day outside Seattle in awe-inspiring Mount Rainier National Park, the fifth oldest national park in the United States. The park encompasses 378 miles and has the greatest single-peak glacial system in the United States. Glaciers radiate from the summit and slopes of the 14,411 foot volcano. Hike the trails of this beautiful, peaceful mountain that attracts 2 million visitors each year.
Transit the Locks
Cruise through Seattle's picturesque Hiram Chittenden Locks. Discover the functions of the locks connecting the salt water of the Puget Sound and the fresh water of Lake Union. View the historic waterfront from Elliott Bay, an international hub for cruise, transport and tanker ships. See the spectacular city skyline, the majestic Cascade and Olympic mountain ranges and the "Sleepless in Seattle" houseboat community.
Orca Whale Cruise in the San Juan Islands
See the Orca and Minke whales who make their home near the San Juan Islands. Bus from downtown Seattle to Anacortes, Wash. where you will board a ferry and cruise through the beautiful San Juans to Friday Harbor. Tour the village of Friday Harbor and explore the charming shops, restaurants and their famous Whale Museum. Board a 60-foot yacht for a four-hour whale-watching excursion. This cruise is well known for spectacular sea life sightings - seals, sea lions, sea birds, bald eagles, otters, and Orca or Minke whales. A deli sandwich buffet is included on the yacht. (As in any wildlife tour, you can never guarantee sighting the animals, however it is extremely rare not to see most species)
Chef for a Day!
Discover the "decidedly Northwest" style of cooking utilizing fresh, locally grown ingredients! Meet a prominent local chef and watch as they reveal coveted kitchen secrets and demonstrate personal cooking techniques. Indulge in some of the day's creations during a festive tasting lunch paired with Washington state wines. Recreate the recipes at home with recipe cards from the chef!
Kayaking
Get an up-close-and-personal view of the water framed city. Begin with a brief lesson on boat handling and paddling techniques. Kayak through the urban waterways Lake Union's tall sailing ships, colorful houseboats and Gasworks Park. Paddle right up to people on park benches, houseboats, restaurants or docks. Touring kayaks are extremely stable and comfortable. (Prior kayaking experience is not necessary)
Ferry to Beautiful Bainbridge
Traverse majestic Puget Sound by ferry to quaint Bainbridge Island. Travel to the Bloedel Reserve, a grand estate set on 150 acres overlooking the water. Stroll the manicured pathway through an Asian-inspired garden, rock formations and reflective pools. Feast on a delicious smoked salmon lunch at Kiana Lodge, a private, six-acre waterfront retreat filled with tall firs, fragrant cedars and colorful flowers. Luxuriate in the serenity as you meander the lush grounds and sandy beaches, then wander through the greenhouse to view the Native American Basket collection on display at the lodge. Return to Seattle by ferry, enjoying a spectacular view of the Seattle skyline!
Houseboat Tour
Get a behind-the-scenes glimpse of Seattle's unique community. Learn about Seattle's houseboats, the lure of urban Lake Union and tales of moonlight skinny dips. See the "Sleepless in Seattle" houseboat, vintage updated shacks resting on virgin cedar logs, and elegant two story abodes supported by Ferro-cement and Styrofoam oats that sometimes include a basement! After an informative slide show, you will spend two hours with the knowledgeable and entertaining "Houseboat Lady" on board a deluxe motor vessel as it cruises past the Lake Union and Portage Bay houseboats and into Lake Washington where you’ll view the residences of the founders of Microsoft, Starbucks, Nordstrom, and Costco.
Take the Helm, Trim the Sails!
Prepare to come aboard and sail the magnificent Puget Sound! Board the performance yacht, Obsession, which was built in 1986 and featured in the movie Masquerade. Take in the views of Seattle, which has the highest number of boats per capita of any U.S. city. Enjoy the large open decks, while the highly experienced crew makes your trip a memorable one.
Snoqualmie Falls
Journey to Snoqualmie Falls, one of Washington's most popular scenic attractions, located just 25 miles east of Seattle. More than 1.5 million visitors come to the Falls every year. Enjoy the two-acre park, observation deck, gift shop, the Salish Lodge and the famous 270-foot waterfall. Venture out on an exciting hike to the bottom of the falls for breathtaking views and amazing photo opportunities.
Bike the Burke
Ride along the shores of Lake Washington on the Burke Gilman Trail, built on an old railway bed. Follow a scenic route through a lush corridor of greenery along the Sammamish River Valley, past neighborhood parks. Make a stop at local winery. Tour the winery and sample the wine. Picnic on the beautiful grounds before riding back.

Drive through the University of Washington's 200-acre Arboretum to the enchanting Japanese Garden, with its ceremonial teahouse, lake filled with brightly colored carp, and 40,000 different types of flora.
